Discover the Books of Greg Henderson

Well written, inspirational and motivational! As believers we are all "called" to missions - Acts 1:8 reminds us that we are to be witnesses in Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Mr. Henderson does a beautiful job of showing us what this looks like through the lens of a rural Alabama church that accepted this call. Their commitment to missions is detailed as he describes the many ministries of regular folks who have answered God's call. Henderson has traveled to and been a first hand participant in many of these missions. I was particularly moved by his first person account of traveling with a church planting team in remote countries that are hostile to the gospel.(see chapter 7, The Central Asia Project) If you want to better understand what it looks like to be an Acts1:8 believer, this is a book for you. Again, it is well written and inspiring catalog of accounts of Christians who've acknowledged, taken action and are living the great commission. An excellent read!

This book contains true stories of real people who give their time, their money and often risk their safety in an effort to share (and show) the love of Jesus with others who may not otherwise ever hear His name. I have been fortunate to meet several of the people the author interviews and tells stories of (a few I would go as far as saying, I know them). These people are selfless and the author (whom I have also gotten to know a little) writes with love and honesty and even a little humor. His stories draw you in and will definitely open your eyes to the privilege we experience with our religious freedoms in the United States. His writing will also motivate you and possibly even help you to hear the Lord’s calling on your own life to go, love others and plant seeds whether down the street or on another continent (so read with caution).

Reading this book was a joy. I know the author personally and he is simply one of the kindest people to ever visit our ministry. He and his wife care about people. This book is an challenging look at what God can do through any church that gets a vision for the lost world.

Great humor with a sense of small town. Loved it!

Greg Henderson is one of my favorite authors. He is a great story-teller. You'll also love his previous book, "The Amazing Mr. Beam."

This book was placed into my life at exactly the right time. Its words and lessons hit me like a truck and it really was a wake up call to things I have been overlooking in my day-to-day life. As I deal with changes myself throughout my senior year of highschool, this book helped to highlight the importance of what I need to keep my focus and priorities on. God knew what an important read this was for me and I am certain that it can be just as influential to others as well. It is not only applicable to coming of age students like myself, but to people across all ages as it contains great eye-opening concepts that point to a deepening in faith and Christ-centered understanding. I’ve had great conversations with peers as well as adults dealing with ideas discussed in the book, so I encourage anyone interested to give it a read and see what great conversations new understandings it creates for your life as well!
